  1. Ambedkar Jayanti is a national holiday in India celebrated on April 14th every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, who is widely regarded as the father of the Indian Constitution.

  2. Dr. Ambedkar was born in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, in 1891 and played a pivotal role in drafting the Indian Constitution, which came into effect on January 26, 1950.

  3. He was a prominent social reformer, economist, and political leader who fought against discrimination based on caste, religion, and gender.

  4. He dedicated his life to empowering the Dalits, the lowest caste in the Indian caste system, and worked towards their social and economic upliftment.

  5. He was the first Dalit to graduate from a university in India and also went on to earn a degree from Columbia University in the United States.

  6. He founded the Bahishkrit Hitakarini Sabha, which aimed at promoting the welfare of the marginalized sections of society, and later the Republican Party of India.

  7. He was also a champion of women's rights and advocated for gender equality in all spheres of life.

  8. Ambedkar's contributions to the nation are remembered every year on his birth anniversary through various cultural and educational programs organized across the country.

  9. The government of India has also instituted several awards and honors in his memory, including the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award in the country.

  10. Ambedkar's legacy continues to inspire generations of Indians to work towards building a just and inclusive society where every individual is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their caste, religion, or gender.
