Book Summary:
Amish Tripathi needs no introduction, his latest book "Suheldev The King Who Saved India" is released, I finished the book yesterday and here I am to share my review of the book.
First of all, let me tell you that this book is not entirely Amish work, it is the first book written under the Immortal Writers Center.
A team of writers who helped research the trap and create the first draft
However the concept comes from a trap and he cleans up the manuscript here what amish is about in this book immortal author center
I work with a team of writers who I assign to read the entire story and research material, then they write the first draft that I work on, so the story genesis and final writing is done by me. while a team drives the first draft
We have tried our best to make sure that the book at Author Center reads like any other book of mine
But we wanted to be honest that these books are the result of a team effort, not just my work.
Now coming to the book tells the story of a forgotten hero of the 11th century who unites Indians against foreign invaders set in the 11th century. Shiv
They not only destroyed the temple, looted it but also broke the revered Shiva Linga, the Barbary Turks relentlessly looted Indian cities, men and infants were mercilessly killed, while women were brutally raped and turned into slaves. sold as
The book praises the journey of the warrior Sohail Chor who united Indians across religious castes and regions under his leadership and the bowed prince and his followers who put up a fierce resistance against the Turks.
Suheldev is crowned King of Travis when his father King Miguel dies, soon he faces another invasion when Salar Masud, nephew of Mahmud of Ghazni, returns to India with a huge army and this time the Turks are to stay because they intend to win and rule
It all ends in a spectacular battle of marriage we are the kings so here they have destroyed the ottoman army down to its last man
What I liked about the book is that a net connects us to the inspiring story of the great patriot, so he would be those of whom very few of us knew about whom I had never heard of, so he the day before i read this book
I really appreciate the efforts to bring to the fore the life and times of the brave king whose courageous leadership and foresight freed India from the barbaric Turks.
The book celebrates India's unity in diversity and cultural tolerance, it questions the caste system prevalent in Hinduism since ages and highlights how it has affected our country.
It also talks about the Hindu Muslim conflict and the shortcomings of both the religions.
The setting and the first chapter of the book which describes the attack on the solar temple was intriguing enough that I was hooked but after that everything went downhill so let's see what went wrong
Although the premise had great promise, the plot got lost in the big time book genre to begin with, but soon I felt like I was reading a Bollywood script, every Bollywood blockbuster material had their tragedy, a certain romance patriotic revenge and killed this kind of story
The main character is heavily inspired by Robin Hood and his band of followers. If you have read Robin Hood you will find the subtle similarity but what surprised me was the sudden change of main character to Suheldev.
A simple prince who did not want his elder brother to fight with the Turks and suddenly decided to leave the luxury of the palace and go into the jungle to engage in guerrilla warfare with the Turks.
It is so casual that there is a major flaw in the book, there was no depth in any of the characters including the main characters, there are a bunch of underdeveloped characters like Govardhan Aslam washing ashes etc. Shani.
who were somehow oppressed by the Turks and joined the crusade against them, another thing that bothered me was the love angle between Sohail Dave and Toshi Ani
Toscani was a brilliant archer and a formidable warrior but he is reduced to mere love interest in the book
Now coming to the presentation of the book the author has tried hard to add an element of mystery but in vain the main twist of the book was so poorly written and almost unbelievable
very little of the miss philosophical touch you expect from amish books, the whole book is pretty average amish magic which was clearly evident in the shiva trilogy is clearly missing in this book but then again the book is not completely written mistake though that's no excuse
Radius has some hope when the Amish name is attached to the book I will give this book 3.5 out of 5 stars.
